Privacy Notice

The Social Circle is currently built and run by a solo founder, and I want to be straightforward about privacy.

This page explains what information The Social Circle may collect or store, why it is used, what other people might be able to see, and where third-party services are involved.

Last updated: April 2026

1. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the platform, The Social Circle may collect or store information like:

Account information
  • your email address
  • your display name, handle, and profile details
  • your avatar, banner, bio, or other profile information you choose to add
Content and activity
  • posts, comments, replies, reactions, messages, and other content you create
  • images, media links, and related content data
  • world selections, profile associations, and other activity tied to how you use the platform
Technical and usage information
  • IP address and basic security or request logs
  • browser, device, operating system, and app or wrapper context
  • timestamps and basic usage data needed to run, maintain, and troubleshoot the service

2. How information is used

The Social Circle uses information mainly to keep the platform running and usable. That includes things like:

  • creating, authenticating, and managing accounts
  • displaying profiles, posts, comments, messages, notifications, and other user activity
  • operating feeds, worlds, creator-support features, and other live parts of the platform
  • detecting abuse, reviewing reports, enforcing rules, and protecting the service
  • fixing bugs, improving reliability, and helping users when something goes wrong

The Social Circle does not sell your personal information.

3. What other users may be able to see

Some parts of the platform are meant to be social and visible.

That can include your display name, handle, avatar, profile details you choose to publish, and content you post in public-facing areas. If you post, comment, reply, or interact in ways that are visible inside the product, other users may also be able to see that activity depending on the feature or page.

4. Third-party services

The Social Circle relies on third-party providers to run the platform. Based on the current product, that may include services like:

  • Supabase for authentication and database functions
  • Vercel for hosting and deployment
  • Stripe for payment processing where paid support or creator-tip features are available

These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Payment card information and certain payment-processing details are generally handled by the payment provider, not stored directly by The Social Circle.

5. When information may be shared

The Social Circle does not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared or disclosed only when reasonably necessary, including:

  • with service providers that help run the platform
  • to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid government requests
  • to investigate abuse, enforce platform rules, or protect users, the public, or the service itself

6. Data storage, retention, and deletion

Information is kept for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the platform, maintain security, support users, investigate abuse, or meet legal and operational obligations.

Because the platform is still evolving, retention periods may vary depending on the feature, content type, or technical need. Some information may also remain in backups, logs, moderation records, or payment-related records for a period of time after user-facing content has been changed or removed.

If you want to request account deletion, contact support@thesocialcircle.world. Reasonable efforts will be made to process deletion requests within technical, operational, and legal limits.

7. Your choices

Depending on the feature, you may be able to:

  • edit profile information inside the app
  • delete or change some content you posted where that functionality exists
  • contact support for account help, deletion requests, or policy questions

8. Children’s privacy

The Social Circle is intended for users 13 or older.

The platform is not knowingly designed to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the platform or submitted personal information, contact support@thesocialcircle.world so the issue can be reviewed.

9. Changes to this notice

This Privacy Notice may be updated as the product changes or as legal and operational needs change.

When that happens, the “Last updated” date on this page will be revised. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the updated notice.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or concerns about how information is handled, contact support@thesocialcircle.world.
